About us
hello there! We’re M3lme, a small ceramic shop based in Safi, Morocco. Ceramics have always been part of daily life here. Plates, bowls, and tajines are made to be used, shared, and handled every day, not just displayed.
The pieces we sell come from local workshops where ceramic work is learned through practice. Many of the artisans we work with started young, spending time around the wheel, the clay, and the kiln, slowly learning the process step by step. Over time, this work becomes routine—something done with care, repetition, and attention rather than speed.
Our shop exists to share these everyday ceramic pieces as they are made, without changing the process or the look to follow trends. What you see reflects the work itself.
Materials and Making
Each piece starts with clay shaped by hand or on a wheel. After shaping, the items rest and dry naturally before being fired. Glazing and painting are done by hand, using familiar patterns commonly found in Safi ceramics. The pieces are then fired again to finish them.
Because this work is done manually, small differences are normal. Colors may vary slightly, brush lines may be visible, and surfaces may not be perfectly uniform. These details come from the way the pieces are made and handled at each stage.
Before anything is listed on our website, it is checked, cleaned, and photographed as it is. We don’t edit out variations, and we describe items clearly so there are no surprises.
What You’ll Find Here
Our collection includes ceramic pieces meant for everyday use:
Plates for serving and meals
Bowls in different sizes
Moroccan tajines
Ceramic serving sets
The focus is on simple, useful forms that work well in real kitchens and at shared tables.
How We Work
Our days follow a steady rhythm. Clay is prepared, pieces are shaped, glazes are applied, and kilns are loaded and unloaded. Once firing is complete, each item is handled again—edges are checked, surfaces are inspected, and details are finished by hand.
Only after this step do we photograph the piece and add it to the shop. Measurements, materials, and care information are listed clearly so customers know exactly what they’re buying.
Our Approach
We believe in being clear and direct. We don’t use big claims or promises. Instead, we focus on explaining where our products come from, how they’re made, and what to expect when they arrive.
Handmade work naturally includes variation, and we see that as part of the object’s story. Every piece has passed through several hands before reaching yours.
Our Mission
Our goal is simple: to make ceramic pieces from Safi available to people who appreciate everyday objects made by hand. We want these items to be used, not stored away—to become part of meals, routines, and shared moments.
By choosing M3lme, you’re supporting local ceramic work through direct purchase and helping keep small workshops active in Safi.
